FAMILY TIME OVER MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!

Family is everything. Our weekend started out with Gary taking the kids to SLC to see Grandma Clark. While there, they attended one of Hayden's favorite activities...WWE. I'm glad I had another commitment since WWE isn't my thing. I was happy to attend a Thomas family event organized by my cousin RaCail. It was a truly spiritual experience.

On Sunday after church, we drove to Beaver, Greenville and Minersville to decorate for Memorial Day. The cemeteries all looked beautiful. I'm grateful we have this one day to pay tribute to our ancestors. This is the 29th consecutive year I've participated, with one absence when out of town.

Monday was filled with boating fun on Quail Lake. My sister in law, Kathy, and my two nieces, Courtney and Cassidy and my mother, joined us for the fun. The weather was great until about 2:00 and then the dark clouds rolled in. We got out of there fast.

Family Beach Pictures

On Mother's Day, we were recuperating from the wedding the previous evening. Before meeting family for breakfast, I wanted to go down to the beach for pictures. This is what I was giving myself for mother's day. The weather was a bit overcast, and the sun was bright (hence the squinting) and the wind was blowing just enough to cause hair to fly. Here is the result....

Thanks Aunt Janice for waking up early to go with us and act as photographer!

This is my cute grand-niece....Savannah Kate! She just insisted sitting by me at breakfast. She told everyone how I was her favorite great-auntie and that I had really fun things to chew on in my purse. Oh sweet innocence!

Ryan's Wedding May '09

This was the most unique wedding I've ever been to. My nephew Ryan and his new wife, Carol, celebrated their marriage in style. They were married in the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, California. The room was decked out in pink leather, floating cherub light fixtures, and a busy pink carpet. Now, it would be boring to be married in a "traditional" manner....so in Ryan fashion, he was married by a magiciain. He was a little strange, not to mention freaky, yet entertaining. Ryan wore his gold tux and Carol was beautiful in her wedding gown and boo-font hair-doo. Their wedding cake was in the fashion of a pink Hostess Snoball (for those of you who are old enough to remember such things!).
I'm not sure about the bride and groom on the cake, but I think it reflects Tijuana merchandise.

Seeing family is always fun. Sorry. Most of these pictures are not in focus or have good lighting. The room was dark and it was hard to see if you are taking good pictures....Steve, Jan, and Joyce

There were lots more family there. I wish I would have taken more pictures, but I was wiped out! Nine hour drive, both ways. Yikes.
